What to do before your session, and what to expect as you heal.

Before your appointment

How to prepare.

Following these steps ensures the best possible pigment deposit and the smoothest healing. Please read carefully.

In the week prior

  • No tinting, waxing or electrolysis
  • No retinoid products
  • No tanning or intense sun exposure
Most importantly: To prevent bleeding & poor colour deposit, avoid anything that thins the blood or increases skin sensitivity in the days before your appointment.

In the 24 hours before

  • No alcohol
  • No caffeine — yes, that includes coffee
  • No vitamin E or fish oil supplements
  • No excessive sweating or working out

The healing process

What to expect.

Cosmetic tattooing heals over 6–8 weeks. The process is gradual and predictable — understanding it helps you trust the result.

  • Immediately after

    Expect intensified colour and slight redness around the treated area. This is entirely normal and will settle within hours.

  • Days 2–5

    The colour continues to look bold. Some clients notice slight tenderness. Keep the area clean and avoid touching it.

  • Week 1

    After seven days, the brows will fade approximately 20% and appear to shrink around 10%. You may notice minimal peeling or flaking. Refrain from picking — this is a normal part of the healing cycle and picking disrupts pigment retention.

  • Weeks 2–8

    The colour settles into its healed tone. Some areas may appear lighter or slightly patchy — this is why the complimentary touch-up exists. Allow the full 6–8 weeks for your skin to complete the healing process before assessing the final result.

Your complimentary touch-up.

We include a complimentary touch-up session with every brand-new set of cosmetic tattooing. At this appointment — at least four weeks after the initial session — Liz assesses your healing, fills in any missing strokes, and gives the pigment a colour boost where needed.

This session is not an optional extra. It is part of the process. Every new set requires two sessions to achieve the intended result.
